Other potential sites in the USA

While geothermal energy is everywhere, it is merely a matter of how deep one has to go to get to it, and, whether it is financially expedient to do so, in the United States there is a fortunate correlation between the areas most in need of water and geothermal energy.

This correlation can be seen in the geothermal maps from Southern Methodist University as well as on the Idaho National Energy Labs and Department of Energy maps.

Here we will list specific sites where at least preliminary work has been done as to the feasibility of geothermal desalination. Some of the links below will be found in the Library sections as well.
