About Our Water

Water Quality

In quality tests using ocean water tested at 33,000ppm total dissolved solids SDSU ICATS tested the Delta T unit Prototype 5 which produced water at 51ppm with an identified leak of salt water into the product water (due to the extensive reworking of the box which contained various prototypes, not due to design faults). High quality bottled waters are usually in the 290-400ppm range. The Delta T unit does this without the use of membranes or chemical treatments of the water. They invested in water. The results were outstanding.

Volumetrics

Testing completed by ICATS in January of 2007 proved the predictive math model relating to volumetrics showing a municipal sized model would output more than 163,350 gallons per day which is the 1/2 acre foot of water predicted by the engineers. No desalination company has ever achieved similar numbers using water that has not been boiled.

This is a significant breakthrough in renewable energy desalination. Using geothermal energy to accomplish this on large scale projects saves enormous amounts of fossil fuels and reduced the "carbon footprint" of the city using such systems.

Materials

The unit and most of the equipment at a desalination plant is made from 316L stainless steel and has exceptionally long life expectancy. Add to this the fact that the water is not subject to boiling and the life of the equipment is again extended. While the company may use some depreciation schedule, it fully expects the units to last more that 100 years.

Contracts

The company will enter into long term contracts with municipal buyers to provision them with water at reasonable rates for extended periods of time. Regardless of the length of time, and regardless of the particulars of each water deal, eventually the municipality will take ownership of the desalination plant.

Additionally, the company will undertake large scale development projects which can only occur when sufficient water is present for such developments. Company plans always involve a complete environmental approach with water reused and waste solids remaining on land and reused or disposed of properly to maximize the natural cycles and minimize impact on the world as a whole.
